Our Story

Founded in March 2017, Well Played Games is a small but experienced game development company based in Leamington Spa UK. We develop a wide variety of video games across a range of platforms.
We are an ambitious studio with a drive to create and support high quality serviced games. We believe that if we can create an awesome, supportive and empowering environment for our teams, then success will follow.

QA Lead

Well Played Games are a small but experienced games development studio based in Leamington Spa, UK, who develop a variety of video games across a range of platforms. Well Played Games are looking for an experienced and ambitious QA Lead to support multiple projects and help drive a consistent QA strategy across a product’s total life cycle.

The Role

The successful candidate will have experience in a QA role across a range of platforms, including both mobile and console. They will be expected to hit the ground running, acting as the QA liaison between our development teams and external QA partners.

Responsibilities

  • Support the testing and submission of releases on mobile, PC or console
  • Work closely with all disciplines to ensure QA needs are met
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to work independently and as a team
  • Create and communicate clear testing plans to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide hands-on testing support as required
  • Source external testing support for key milestones or releases

Requirements

  • Must have shipped multiple video games in a similar role 
  • Experience with a range of project management and bug tracking tools
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, both internal and external facing
  • Experience managing internal and external QA teams
  • Experience with a range of project management and bug tracking tools
  • Ability to learn new skills and tools quickly

Games Analyst

Well Played Games is a small but experienced games development company based in Leamington Spa, UK, who develop a variety of video games across a range of platforms.

The Role

Well Played Games are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Games Analyst to work within their mobile free-to-play development team. This person will be responsible for building, measuring and analysing data from a variety of games. This person should be detail orientated with a passion for data, visualisations, and should demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Help the game team make data-informed decisions by providing insight into player behaviour through presentations, deep dives, and answering general queries
  • Partner with Product Managers to prioritise the most impactful questions for the business and use data to make recommendations for changes and improvements to the products 
  • Define the telemetry requirements of the project, in an ongoing capacity, and identify any data quality issues
  • Work closely with the product and the development teams to ensure data is fully understood by everyone. Champion a data-informed environment and help the team understand how data can be used to resolve the questions they might have
  • Develop new dashboards based on the evolving needs of the project, to track features and experiments, and iterate them with usability in mind
  • Design, execute and analyse experiments that help us better understand our player’s needs and wants to help us maximise the potential of the product
  • Communicate with visualisations and explanations to all levels within the organisation, including to senior or external stakeholders when required

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in a similar or equivalent role
  • Self-sufficient and able to adopt a pragmatic mindset
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, or R
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Experience with data visualisation software such as Tableau or similar 
  • Experience working on free-to-play games an advantage

Junior Games Analyst
